Makoto Kino is the tough but kind warrior of thunder and lightning, Sailor Jupiter. She has had a reputation as a bad girl because of rumors that she got kicked out of her old school for fighting but all her friends know how sweet and gentle she really is.

She is an excellent fighter and one of the most powerfull Sailor Senshi. She is a student of the kung-fu way of fighting and can defeat normal thugs as well as some supernateral ones with out transforming.

She is also a talented cook and a good house keeper. (Her dream is to be a bride and own her own sweet shop.) She loves to make lovely lunches for her friends. Her favorite foods are cherry pie and meat loaf, but there is no food she dislikes. She is also talented at ice skating, ballet and dance. Naturally, home economics is her favorite school subject (her least favorite being physics).

She is a tall girl and the tallest of the senshi, rivaled only by Sailor Pluto and one of the Sailor Starlights. This is the reason she wore a different uniform from the one's Usagi and Ami wore at Juuban Junior High. She had to stay in her old school's uniform because Juuban JH didn't have a uniform in her size. When she enrolls in Juuban High with Usuagi, Ami and Minako, she finally gets the same uniform as the others. She is also wears pink rose earings all the time.Super Sailor JupiterWhen not in uniform, her favorite type of fashion is sporty casual and her favorite color is sugar pink.


Age: At the begining of the series she is 14 and at the end she is around 17.

Legal Status: She is a Japanese citizen with no criminal record. She currently lives in Tokyo.


Familly Status: She currently lives alone because her parents were killed in a plane crash. Although the loss of her parents is sad, she is easy going and comfortable in her situation. (She does have a fear of airplanes though.)

She has no current boyfriend at the moment, but she is always getting crushes on guys who look or sound like her old crush. Among guys she's had a crush on are Motoki Furuhata (the clerk at the arcade) and Misha (an ice skater).


Friends: Her best friends are Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon, the other members of the Sailor Team or Inner Senshi (Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury, Rei Hino/Sailor Mars, and Minako Aino/Sailor Venus), Chibi Usa/Chibi Sailor Moon, the cats Luna and Artemis, and Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Kamen. Her other best friend is Shinozaki (in the anime) and Asanuma (in the manga).

She is also friends with the Outer Senshi (Setsuna Meiou/Sailor Pluto, Haruka Tenou/Sailor Uranus, Michiru Kaiou/Sailor Neptune, and Hotaru Tomoe/Sailor Saturn), Naru Oosaka, Motoki Furuhata and his sister Unazuki, Misha and his partner Januline, Shinozaki (a childhood friend), Seijuurou and Natsumi Ginga (the aliens from Sailor Moon R), Kakusui Yakushiji (a fellow martial artist) and Eluza Gray (an athelete). All her friends call her Mako-chan.


Past Life: Makoto is a reincarnation of the origional Sailor Jupiter of the Moon Kingdome. In her former life she was one of Princess Serenite's bodyguards.


Jupiter around the world: In the American version of the show her name is Lita. In the French version her name is Marcy.
